It was a delight to work with a professional of Ellen's talent. She was able to crystallize the essence of my work in a fresh, attractive brochure. Her text writing and graphic art coordination reflect the qualities so important in both our businesses - creativity and attention to detail.

Ellen's presentation was both informative and entertaining, providing our members with a great learning environment.

Ellen Looyen founded her branding, marketing and communications consultancy in 1988; and was one of the first on the radar screen (especially in the late 80’s) to discuss the importance of personal branding. For over two decades, she has assisted all types of individuals and organizations (from start-ups, professional services and non-profits, to Corporations such as Chevron, Kaiser Permanente and Wells Fargo), differentiate and articulate the uniqueness and value of their "brand" in a charismatic and compelling way to acquire new clients and more business.
Always a pioneer, Ellen was one of the first women in sales and marketing in Corporate America. She spent most of the early to mid 80's distinguishing herself as a sales and training leader at both IBM and Xerox, where she initially developed the charismatic branding techniques she creatively employs in all of her work today. Ellen is a frequent Brand Commentator on Northern CA’s #1 Radio Station, KGO Newstalk 810.
As both a branding/marketing expert and an inspirational (and humorous!) motivational speaker and trainer, Ellen has a unique talent for distilling the essence of people, products and services to discover what's most unique and valuable about them. Through her executive presentation skills trainings and individual media coaching programs, Ellen has shown executives, entrepreneurs and salespeople how to access "The Charismatic Zone of Influence" to empower their communications, enhance their effectiveness and become more charismatic leaders (and she is especially passionate about facilitating Women’s Leadership programs).
Ellen has a BA in Philosophy from Temple University in Philadelphia and extensive experience as an emotional branding strategist and guerilla marketing communications expert. Her work has been enthusiastically endorsed by the best-selling, Guerrilla Marketing author, Jay Conrad Levinson and she is featured in C.J. Hayden's best-selling book, Get Clients Now (as a brochure and marketing communications expert).
Ellen has been featured in The San Francisco Business Times, The East Bay Business Times and has been quoted as a sales and marketing expert in numerous magazines and business journals; and she has recently completed her much-anticipated, “Branded with Charisma DIY Branding Kit” and is now taking orders for them on her site. The release is scheduled for January, 2010.
For over ten years, Ellen was a very popular Instructor at the Renaissance Entrepreneurship Center in San Francisco; and she has also served as a Marketing Communications Expert with the Small Business Development Center in San Francisco.
Originally a Native New Yorker, Ellen chose to live and work in the San Francisco Bay Area over twenty years ago because of her love of nature and the outdoors. Most days, she can be found hiking one of the many gorgeous Bay Area trails with her beloved Black Lab, Lily, and other good friends.
